Connecticut Hall of Change Celebrates 7 Years of the Great 8
The Connecticut Hall of Change proudly celebrated seven years of the Great 8 on September 13, 2026, bringing together community leaders, advocates, supporters, and honorees for an evening dedicated to transformation, leadership, and second chances.
Held at TheaterWorks Hartford, the 2026 celebration continued the Great 8 tradition of recognizing formerly incarcerated individuals who have transformed their lives and are making meaningful contributions throughout Connecticut. The event highlighted the power of personal growth while celebrating those who now use their experiences to strengthen and inspire their communities.
This year’s celebration also welcomed several distinguished special guests. Connecticut State Senator Gary Winfield served as keynote speaker, joined by State Representative Toni Walker and State Senator Herron Keyon Gaston. The evening also featured a special performance by Yexandra “Yex” Diaz.
Seven years after the Great 8 began, the event continues to represent the heart of the Connecticut Hall of Change’s mission: honoring human growth and contributions to community. The 2026 celebration provided another opportunity to recognize remarkable journeys, bring people together, and demonstrate the lasting impact that second chances can have across Connecticut.
