The Honorable Alder Angel “Yummy” Hubbard, representing Ward 3 in New Haven, Connecticut, is a proud lifelong resident, dedicated public servant, and tireless advocate for her community. Deeply rooted in the legacy of strong women who came before her, her late mother Mary Ogman, grandmother Emma Taft, and spiritual mentor Bishop Brewer Jr., Yummy has turned her lived experiences into purpose. With over 15 years as a homecare health aide for the elderly and disabled, and now as Alder, she has committed herself to bringing resources, hope, and opportunities to New Haven residents through community events, youth programs, and public safety initiatives. She is especially passionate about Making New Haven’s streets safer, drug-free, and filled with positive outlets for young people, while also using her platform to champion survivors of domestic violence, a cause close to her heart. Despite the demands of being a single mother to seven children, Yummy leads with compassion, strength, and an unwavering dedication to service. She has been honored by Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz and The Power of Women PAC as one of the 2025 Democratic Women Leaders, and recognized by Goodwill of Southern New England during their “Second Chance” Month for her work in supporting justice-impacted individuals. Most recently, her induction into the prestigious Connecticut Hall of Change stands as a testament to her transformation, leadership, and lifelong commitment to lifting others.
